How To Install And Customize a Blogger Template For a New Blogs

Blogger is one of the largest blogging platforms to exist and is maintained by world leader in technology, Google. It is used by millions of people daily and thousands of blogs bloom from it everyday. Along with such mind bogging number of blogs comes the mind boggling number of templates to choose from and there are templates which suits each blog in its own unique way. Lets stop chit chat and get to the thing already.

Installing a Blogger Template

To install a blogger template you must follow the below steps :

• Go to Blogger.
• Login to Blogger Dashboard.
• Navigate to Theme tab and then click on Backup/Restore button on the top right.

• Now select Choose File or Upload and select the file (xml) which you just downloaded and hit Upload .

• That's it! Your blog template should now be changed.

P.S : If it asks whether to keep widgets or delete them, click on Keep! because deleting the widget might cause you to loose all of your widgets which you had earlier.

Editing Blogger Template Using Template Designer

Navigate to   Template   page of your blog (as mentioned above) and now click on Customize button just below the small image of your blog page. It will take you to the graphical editor where you will able able to change the background, layout, colors, fonts,CSS etc.
Note : This method is only possible if the template designer has made arrangements for editing it via the designer.

Editing Blogger Template Using Template Editor

In the   Template   screen, instead of clicking Customize , click on Edit HTML . You will be presented with a HTML Editor full of codes which you will easily understand if you know HTML and CSS. Edit as you wish but don't even try to make any hard changes here if you don't know what HTML and CSS are. I'm not responsible if you break anything.
